GE: Socialist Front eyes SMCs in central S'pore: SINGAPORE: Singapore's newest political party, the Socialist Fr...

SINGAPORE: Singapore's newest political party, the Socialist Front, is looking at contesting Single Member Constituencies (SMCs) in central Singapore. Mr Ng Teck Siong, chairman of the Socialist Front, said the party was looking at taking up one or two of the 12 SMCs announced on Thursday. He said the party had not decided where it wanted to contest in. The party's secretary-general, Mr Chia Ti Lik, said he was surprised by the Electoral Boundaries Review Committee's report, as there were "a lot" of changes in the electoral boundaries. Previous considerations and wards that the party was interested in would have to be re-discussed, said Mr Chia. However, the changes did not affect the party too much, he said.
