Experts urge firms to go green

SINGAPORE: Governments worldwide are embracing the green agenda but experts say companies can't afford to wait for government guidance on going green. They said early adopters of climate initiatives will end up being industry leaders, while companies that sit back and wait for guidance from governments will pay a price for being too slow to change. KPMG's Climate Change and Sustainability Services global advisor Yvo de Boer said: "I think the core of a successful solution really lies in a good partnership between the public and the private sector. "It's the responsibility of governments to set a clear policy framework and provide a sense of direction and then really develop very close partnership with industry in terms of implementation and how to create a policy framework.
