George Yeo to step down as Aljunied GRC grassroots adviser in the new year

Mr Yeo is the first of the losing PAP slate of candidates to officially step down as grassroots adviser. By Rachel Chang & Teo Wan Gek After 23 years as a grassroots adviser in Aljunied GRC, former foreign minister George Yeo will relinquish the role in the new year. His departure on Jan 1 was announced to grassroots leaders of his former Bedok Reservoir-Punggol ward at a closed-door briefing in October. Also present at the briefing were two People's Action Party (PAP) MPs, Pasir Ris-Punggol GRC MP Teo Ser Luck and Joo Chiat MP Charles Chong. Mr Yeo told the grassroots leaders that the two MPs will help to support the grassroots groups in the ward when he leaves.
