Teen slashed after SMS argument between two girls

An 18-year-old pleaded guilty to slashing and stabbed a full-time national serviceman in a face-off that started over an SMS argument between two teenage girls. The teen, Lee Bing Ru, was part of a secret society that attacked NSF Lai Yu Wei, 23, at Pioneer Mall in Jurong West on May 16. Bing Ru was arrested and pleaded guilty yesterday but his sentencing was postponed to Dec 28, pending a reformative training report. Mr Lai had suffered a 4cm penetrating wound on his right upper back, a 10cm laceration over his left cheek and a penetrating chest wound. More in The New Paper on Thursday (Dec 8).
