The clinic joins a network of 17 others around the island that work with the Cat Welfare Society (CWS) to offer subsidised sterilisation services for stray cats. The clinics charge about $40 to $60 for a stray female cat and $25 for a male. Caregivers pay for the procedures but get a partial reimbursement from the CWS. Final-year students from the polytechnic's veterinary technology course assist a vet in the sterilisation procedures, conducted twice a week, as part of their course work.
