GE: Deputy PM Teo says electoral boundaries redrawn to better serve residents

SINGAPORE: Singapore's Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Teo Chee Hean has expressed hope that his Pasir Ris-Punggol residents will have a chance to vote in the next General Election. He also dismissed the opposition's accusations that newly-redrawn electoral boundaries favour the ruling People's Action Party. Mr Teo now heads the Pasir Ris-Punggol Group Representation Constituency (GRC), which is also one of the two six-member GRCs left after the redrawn boundaries. The other is Ang Mo Kio GRC which is headed by Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong. Mr Teo said the boundaries fit in better with the population distribution, particularly for his ward, which he says has "grown very big". He added that whether he or his six-member team, consisting of Dr Ahmad Magad, Mr Charles Chong, Miss Penny Low, Mr Michael Palmer and Mr Teo Ser Luck will be standing again for election ...
