Singapore, Brazil sign partial visa abolition agreement: SINGAPORE: Citizens travelling between Singapore and Br...

SINGAPORE: Citizens travelling between Singapore and Brazil for business or leisure will soon no longer need a visa. This applies to those with an intended length of stay of up to 30 days. This comes after both countries signed an Agreement on Partial Exemption of Visa Requirements for Ordinary Passport Holders. Individuals who want to stay for longer than 30 days, or for more than 180 days a year, or to seek employment, are required to apply for the appropriate visa. The agreement will take effect only after both countries have fulfilled their respective ratification procedures, as both sides hope to this will happen by 2014. Singapore's Deputy Secretary for Asia Pacific Vanu Gopala Menon said: "I think that it is an important agreement.
