SINGAPORE: Former presidential hopeful Tan Jee Say, who also contested in May's General Election under the Singapore Democratic Party banner, has published a book of his experiences from the two elections. Titled "A Nation Awakes", the 282-page book includes chapters written by GE candidates from the opposition such as SDP's Dr Vincent Wijeysingha and Dr Ang Yong Guan as well as National Solidarity Party members, Mrs Jeannette Chong-Aruldoss and Ms Nicole Seah. There are also chapters written by activists including prominent blogger Alex Au. In the book's preface, Mr Tan wrote that the writers represent "a broad spectrum of Singapore society ... and also cut across all age groups". He added courage and maturity are the underlying themes of the book - both that of those who entered the political fray as well as that of ordinary voters. And "unlike most post-election comment...
