Singapore Muslims raise S$60,000 to help flood victims in Thailand and Cambodia

SINGAPORE - The Rahmatan Lil Alamin (Blessings-To-All) Foundation (RLAF) and all the mosques in Singapore have raised S$61,885 through a special collection from the Singapore Muslim community to help in the humanitarian relief efforts for flood victims in Thailand and Cambodia. The seven-day collection was held last week at all 69 mosques as well as through online, cash and cheque donations to the Islamic Religious Council of Singapore (MUIS). Since its inception in 2008, the Muslim community, through the foundation, has raised more than S$2 million in aid of humanitarian causes beyond Singapore. The money was handed over to Mercy Relief yesterday. The collection will go towards funding the Food Nutrition Programme developed by Mercy Relief.
