He called for no effort to be spared in getting to the bottom of the matter, and said the most important thing now is to restore confidence in the reliability of Singapore's rail system. He acknowledged the vast outpouring of public anger that had mounted in the wake of the incident. Speaking to reporters at Changi Airport on Thursday evening, after arriving from a work trip to Cambodia, he said: 'I know commuters are angry and concerned, and justifiably so, because their well-being is at risk.'
