Tickled-pickled? Anti-binge drinking campaign kicks off

Partygoer experiences the effects of being drunk by wearing a pair of beer goggles. -- PHOTO: HEALTH PROMOTION BOARD The Health Promotion Board's latest initiative to encourage young adults to enjoy the festive season without binge drinking kicked off last Friday. Premiering at Zouk, 'The Last Man Standing' campaign aimed to heighten awareness around the prevalence of binge drinking among young adults, with a twist to the iconic breathalyser measurement tool. Instead of the usual readings, partygoers found their alcohol levels labelled in the social context of today's youth culture, such as 'Drunkensteined', 'Tickled-Pickled' or 'The Last Man Standing'. Those who took part to get their level of alcohol checked and achieved The Last Man Standing status (one drink or less) got the chance to win instant prizes from cinema tickets to Starbuck dollars.
