Oscars early wins for \"The King's Speech\" and \"Black Swan\" Natalie Portman

LOS ANGELES: The Brits rule, at least at the 2011 Oscars for now, with British actor Colin Firth winning best actor Oscar and filmmaker Tom Hooper winning the best director Oscar for historical drama "The King's Speech". Natalie Portman won the best actress Academy Award for her role as an unhinged ballerina in "Black Swan" having dominated the various awards shows leading up to the Oscars. Earlier, Britain's Christian Bale took the Best Supporting Actor Oscar for his role as a washed-up former boxing champ in "The Fighter" while his co-star Irish-American Melissa Leo both won the Best Supporting Actress title for her role in the same movie. Though she was the favourite to win the Oscar, the 50-year old actress faced strong competition from Amy Adams (The Fighter) and Helena Bonham-Carter (The King’s Speech) all whom also played real-life characters.
