Rolls-Royce to hire 500 staff - 90% of whom will be S'poreans and PRs

SINGAPORE - Rolls-Royce, which currently employs 300 staff at its campus at Seletar Aerospace Park, is looking to hire another 500 employees - 90 per cent of whom will be Singaporeans and permanent residents. Speaking at a briefing yesterday, Rolls-Royce human resource country manager Ang Cham Lark said the world's second largest manufacturer of aircraft engines took a "conscious decision to stay local". It is looking to hire technicians, quality inspectors and production team leads. While the global economy is in a precarious position - with the outlook uncertain for the aviation industry - Ms Ang assured that Rolls-Royce's hiring will proceed as planned regardless of any potential downturn next year.
