“Fucking Asian!”

It’s nice to see someone hold up their hands and admit the truth… of course, racism is not unique to any country or indeed any race, and my own country has it’s fair share of it. But I find in Sg that because the government line is that racism is outlawed and therefore does not exist there is less being done to educate people. They are told it is wrong, but not why. When I taught at a prestigious school in Sg I had one class that was all Chinese who made a joke about Indians to me. I sat them down and gave them a list of the racial epithets they would have been subjected to had they been at school with me in the UK during the 70′s and 80′s, and hopefully some took this on board… but we still have a long way to go all over the world before attitudes like this truly change.
