They are Trans-Cab, Premier, Smart Automobile and Yellow Top, whose cabs are owned by individuals with taxi licences. Trans-Cab said basic flagdown fares will go up by 20 cents for most taxis, similar to changes by ComfortDelGro and SMRT. Peak periods for which surcharges apply will also be extended. Prime Taxis is now the only operator which has not yet decided if it will raise fares. Taxi firms must give commuters at least a week's notice before making changes. SMRT's new fares started ...
