Youth stole bus for joyride: What if he had killed someone?

A 23-year-old man stole a private bus from a carpark at Outram, then went for a joyride with four friends. The man was unlicensed to drive a bus, and could have hit someone. According to a report in today's Straits Times, 23-year-old Nasrul Hisyam Nezarwan had stolen the $75,000 bus from Tan Boon Liat Building in Outram. Nasrul managed to start the bus using a duplicate set of keys, and along with his friends, drove along Outram Road, Zion Road, Ganges Avenue, Commonwealth, Clementi and Bukit Batok. He eventually abandoned the bus along Prince Philip Avenue at about 7am. Nasrul was jailed for a year and three months and fined $1,000. He was also disqualified from driving all kinds of vehicles after his release from prison. STOMPer Sodapop says: "A youth who stole a bus for a joyride was not licensed to drive such a big vehicle.
