S'pore women are not investment savvy

SINGAPORE: When it comes to money, most Singapore women are prudent but they don't bank much on investing. The inaugural MasterCard Worldwide Index of Financial Literacy survey discovered that despite being financially literate, Singapore women scored 51.5 per cent – below the regional average – in the investments component. “Singaporean women are cautious and smart about managing their money” said MasterCard Worldwide’s Communications vice president Georgette Tan. But the some 200 Singapore women showed themselves to be less focused on investments as a financial tool when surveyed on whteher they had the necessary skills and basic understanding to take on investment risks and products.
