2 on paragliding trip die in Austrian avalanche; woman and man were buried under 6-9 ft of snow
VIENNA (AP) - Police say an avalanche has killed two people in the Austrian Alps. The Austria Press Agency reported that police official Herbert Jankowitsch said the two were on a paragliding trip when they were hit by the mass of snow Wednesday near Reutte, in the western Tyrol province. Jankowitsch said the man and woman were found buried under 2 to 3m of snow. Their identities were not released. Avalanches are common in the Alps in the winter months, and are sometimes deadly.
