F1 needs fake rain, says Bernie

Bernie Ecclestone believes that creating artificial rain during Formula One races could lead to a more exciting spectacle. He said yesterday that dry tracks made overtaking "almost impossible" and suggested that circuits be installed with systems to simulate the effect of rain on the surface. "Why not let it 'rain' in the middle of a race? For 20 minutes or the last 10 laps? Suspense would be guaranteed and it would be the same for all," he argued. THE GUARDIAN
