100% agree with this forum letter on our involvement in the M-League

AS A long-time fan of the S-League, I am disappointed in the Football Association of Singapore after reading the report "LionsXII tap on Young Lions, again" (Dec 24). When the search for a new S-League chief executive officer was announced in mid-July, FAS president Zainudin Nordin said it was timely to "leverage and further develop" the league in tandem with partnerships with Japan's and Malaysia's football associations. But now, long-time national team officials such as Eugene Loo and Lee Bee Seng will join the LionsXII, a team similar to the Courts Young Lions playing in the S-League, at a time when league attendances have hit an all-time low. I cannot understand the logic in this, unless the LionsXII were participating in the J-League or even Chinese Super League. But they are in the Malaysia Super League, which is not any more prestigious than the S-League. FAS would ...
