HDB to tweak Interim Rental Housing scheme to help needy

The Housing Board will introduce three new measures to the Interim Rental Housing (IRH) scheme in a bid to serve needy Singaporeans first. -- PHOTO: THE NEW PAPER By Daryl Chin The Housing Board will introduce three new measures to the Interim Rental Housing (IRH) scheme in a bid to serve needy Singaporeans first. In his blog on Friday, National Development Minister Khaw Boon Wan said there will also be a new site at Dover Road, which will come under the revised terms. 'We are tweaking the IRH scheme to better serve Singaporean families in need,' he said. Firstly, the Housing Board will exercise greater oversight over the IRH scheme, which was started in 2009, and has been run by private operators.
