JYJ's Kim Junsu establishes school in rural Cambodia

SEOUL: The aid agency Adventist Development and Relief Agency announced Wednesday that a small school in Pursat, Cambodia, which was funded by donations from Korean pop trio JYJ's Kim Junsu, has recently begun operating after a five-month construction period, said Korean media. Kim, a former member of the popular Korean boy band TVXQ, became involved in the project after his mother visited Pursat – one of the world's poorest areas – and wished to help the residents there. Kim was reportedly moved by the local inhabitants' desire for their children to receive education despite having other pressing needs, so he decided to shoulder the construction costs for a new school building in Pursat.
