Indian national found dead after Sentosa party; he is believed to have drowned

A 29-year-old Indian national is believed to have drowned at Palawan Beach in Sentosa on New Year's day. Construction worker Kannan Ram Kumar had been at the beach with four friends on their day off when the accident happened around 3pm. It is understood that they had been drinking brandy before they decided to take a dip in the sea. According to the Chinese Shinmin Daily News, Mr Kannan was a non-swimmer and had chosen to stay on the shore instead of joining his friends in the water. That could be why none of his friends noticed that he was missing until they came out of the sea, said the report on Monday.
