Dividend yields in 2011:

Singapore has two benchmark equity indices, the Straits Time Index (STI) and the MSCI Singapore Index (SiMSCI). The two indices have differences in terms of constituents, weightings and pricing levels. The STI is made up of 30 constituents while the SiMSCI is made up of 32 constituents. There are 26 mutual constituents that make up both indices. The table below shows the compiled list of STI and SiMSCI constituents ranked according to their dividend yield for year 2011. The price performances of these constituents do not reveal their full yield, as they distributed dividend payments to shareholders. As an example, the price of Singapore Telecommunication inclined 1.3% for 2011 which accounts for a portion of the total return of 10% an investor would receive with an investment at the start of the year as there is another portion of returns due to the dividend payment made b...
