SINGAPORE: Golf is making a comeback at the 2016 Olympics in Rio De Janeiro, and it looks set to get a boost with the HSBC LPGA Brasil Cup, which is likely to popularise the sport in the continent ahead of the Olympics. HSBC has already seen success in Asia with the Women's Champions which ended last Sunday in Singapore. The HSBC Women's Champions has grown from strength to strength and is the biggest women's golf event in Asia. Some 27,000 fans turned up this year, up from the 24,000 previously. HSBC said it wants to replicate that success for Rio with the Brasil Cup which is in its third year. To get things swinging, two big names -- World No 4 Suzann Pettersen and World No 5, Christie Kerr -- will be in line for the May 2011 event. "I have never been to Rio and I am looking forward to visiting it... And help (promote) golf in Rio," Kerr said. HSBC Group head of Sponsors...
