Being on Facebook is against the teachings of Islam and therefore a sin, Iranian cleric says

(THE STAR/ASIA NEWS NETWORK) - An Iranian cleric has declared that Facebook is against the teachings of Islam and therefore, it is a sin to become a member of the social networking site, Berita Harian reported. Ayatollah Lotfollah Safi-Golpaygani said Facebook encouraged immorality. The cleric had been reported as saying that only networking sites which emphasised religion and did not propagate immoral or unethical activities should be allowed.
