NUS and Stanford U start study to encourage more off-peak MRT travel

The National University of Singapore (NUS) and Stanford University in the United States are conducting a study that aims to encourage off-peak commutes on the train in the morning. -- THE NEW PAPER PHOTO: JONATHAN CHOO By Maria Almenoar The National University of Singapore (NUS) and Stanford University in the United States are conducting a study that aims to encourage off-peak commutes on the train in the morning. Commuters can sign up to be included in the study using their ez-link cards. Data on their ez-link card will be collected and commuters will be given points for every kilometre they travel on the train. During the peak periods of 7.30am to 8.30am, commuters earn one point for every kilometre travelled on the train network.
