(THE STAR/ASIA NEWS NETWORK) - A middle-aged man in Mahakali Nagar, New Delhi, killed his wife in a fit of drunken rage after she asked him to quit drinking, reported Malaysia Nanban. Police said Bhanwar Singh, 42, a civil engineer, had been upset with his wife for constantly nagging him to give up his drinking habit. In a rage, Bhanwar beat and strangled Geeta Kanwar, 38, to death. He later called up his relatives and confessed to killing his wife. His two children Dushyant, six, and Divya, five who were staying with a neighbour, were shocked to see their mother dead upon their return. Neighbours said Geeta usually sent the children to stay with a neighbour whenever her husband started drinking in the house as he tended to become violent.
