A fire broke out inside a lab at the National University of Singapore (NUS) earlier this morning (Jan 13). Smoke was seen coming out of a building inside the university's premises. The Singapore Civil Defence Force was also on site to put out the fire. A spokesperson for the SCDF said: "The SCDF received a call at 2.56am today (Jan 13). The exact location was at Block S14, at No. 10 Science Drive 4. "The SCDF sent two fire engines, one Red Rhino, two fire bikes, one ambulance and five support vehicles. "When we arrived, we saw the the fire was inside a biomedical laboratory and used three water jets to extinguish the fire. "An area of 10 x 5 metres and the ceiling in the laboratory was affected.
