LionsXII assistant coach Kadir Yahaya to players ahead of Kedah game: 'No eye contact with rival fans'
In his fortnightly column, the LionsXII assistant coach preps his players for their first away game against Kedah tomorrow THE LIONSXII will get a taste of the "real" Malaysia Cup experience in Kedah tomorrow. Travelling to Malaysia and battling our opponents on their turf in front of their boisterous fans is a test unlike any other – a completely different experience from playing at home. As the LionsXII walk out onto the pitch, they can expect the Malaysian fans to hurl all kinds of abuse at them. During my playing days, they would yell things like, "Kadir goyang, dah kena sumpit (Kadir is shaking, he's been poisoned)" – all kinds of things just to provoke you. The boys should avoid eye contact with the Malaysian fans. If you stare at them, they will get close and challenge you to a fight. More in The New Paper on Friday (Jan 13).
