More workplace childcare centres in pipeline?

SINGAPORE: Parents can look forward to more child care options beyond residential areas as the government wants to provide more options for working parents by encouraging more child care centres in the workplace. The Ministry of Community Development, Youth and Sports (MCYS) is developing an information kit about the benefits and financial grants such as an one-off capital grant of over S$50,000 available to employers and building owners who want to set up a workplace childcare centre. There are currently 35 such centres in Singapore, all of which have benefitted from the government grant that started in 2000.
