Two Malaysians charged over DBS/POSB ATM fraud

SINGAPORE: Two Malaysian men were charged in court on Saturday morning with possessing skimming equipment to make false ATM cards. They allegedly intended to use them to make unauthorised withdrawals from DBS Bank Automated Teller Machines (ATM). The two men - 27-year-old Loke Siew Fei and 39-year-old H'Ng Gaik Chin - are in Singapore on social visit passes. It is believed they conspired with some other people, including Chin Yew Pong, on 12 December 2011. On 12 January, as they were carrying out their plans, they were arrested in Kim Tian Hotel at Geylang Lorong 22. They were nabbed at 6.45pm on Thursday - during an island-wide operation by officers from the Commercial Affairs Department to arrest members of a transactional ATM skimming syndicate.
