With the incentives, MOE's target is for almost all teachers to be graduates by 2020. -- PHOTO: ZAOBAO TEACHERS who complete their part-time Master's degree will get a one-off cash award; while those who are still pursuing their studies have the option to teach part-time. These are just some of the new perks to entice teachers to upgrade themselves, be it to get a bachelor's degree or a master's degree. The $4,000 cash award will be given to those who have taken a course which is approved by the Education Ministry. In addition, there will also be a full-time advanced diploma course for non-graduate teachers and a new full-time postgraduate award. With the incentives, MOE's target is for almost all teachers to be graduates by 2020. Currently, eight in 10 teachers are graduates. Read the full report in Tuesday's edition of The Straits Times.
