SAP sets up regional headquarters in Singapore

SINGAPORE: The shipping and logistics sectors are set to benefit from a new research centre that's being established in Singapore. It's one of the largest research centres in Singapore and it's jointly set up by global IT services firm SAP and the Economic Development Board. The new facility, which will spearhead research work in the region, aims to develop solutions to help the logistics sector become more efficient and competitive. SAP said the centre will be staffed by 100 researchers and scientists, the majority of whom are Singaporeans. Launching the research centre, SAP said it has also decided to make Singapore its Asia Pacific Headquarters. Moving forward, the centre will link up with Singapore-based universities to develop a healthy pipeline of research talent.
