Singapore's infocomm industry will get a S$30 million boost to raise the game of its workforce over the next 2 years. The new 4-year Infocomm Manpower Development Roadmap v2.0 aims to benefit more than 18,000 infocomm professionals and school students in Singapore. The Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA) wants to develop workers in this industry to be able to take on high-end, high value-added jobs with good pay potential. Initiatives to be offered under the roadmap include: a Hybrid Skills Development Programme to equip infocomm professionals with practical know-how in key sectors such as financial services and healthcare training under the Critical Infocomm Technology Resource Programme in new and emerging areas like cloud computing and business analytics a revised ‘A’ levels computing syllabus that focuses on computational thinking for first-year junior co...
