[CNA] No intention to kill cabby, says Chinese national

SINGAPORE: The Chinese national accused of murdering 58-year-old cabbie, Yuen Swee Hong, claimed he wanted to rob Mr Yuen and had no intention to kill him. Wang Wenfeng, 32, claimed he put a knife to the cabbie's neck but Mr Yuen then put up a struggle, the High Court heard on Tuesday morning. Wang claimed he was not sure how Mr Yuen was hurt during the incident on April 11, 2009. Wang said he came out of the taxi and opened the front door when he saw Mr Yuen soaked in blood. The cabbie was purportedly motionless and fell out of the vehicle. Wang then carried Mr Yuen up a slope before putting him down and removing a stack of dollar notes from Mr Yuen's shirt pocket. Wang then drove the taxi to a multi-storey carpark at Canberra Link and took some cash and Mr Yuen's handphone from the taxi.
