Loke Siew Fei, 27, and H'ng Gaik Chin, 39, then requested bail, which has been set at $300,000 each, during the brief hearing. This amount was proposed by the police, who alleged that the two Malaysian men are linked to a transnational ATM skimming syndicate based in Malaysia. It is not known if they were able to raise the bail money. Theft charges could be brought against the pair when investigations are complete, the court was told.
