Singaporeans prefer frozen meat, chicken consumption jumps 40%

Frozen meat makes up more than 50 per cent of the four major types of meat consumed here - chicken, pork, beef and mutton. Singaporeans also have a taste for healthy white meat, with 32kg of chicken consumed per person in 2010, the highest consumption rate for all types of meat. The amount of chicken consumed has also jumped by 40 per cent from 115,000 tonnes in 2002 to 161,500 tonnes in 2010.
