Australian businessman acquitted of assaulting female student at Jurong East MRT station in 2010
An Australian businessman, initially charged with assaulting a woman at Jurong East MRT station in 2010, was acquitted on Friday. Mr Bradley Joseph Furness, 47, was charged after he allegedly grabbed student Tan Ching Hong, 22, in a headlock and pushed her to the ground that December. The Australian, who is a Singapore permanent resident, was also facing two other charges for mischief and causing hurt. He was given a discharge amounting to an acquittal after the prosecution called for a withdrawal of all three charges.
