COE prices end mixed

SINGAPORE: Certificate of Entitlement (COE) premiums ended mixed in the latest bidding exercise. The premium for small cars dropped S$399 to S$42,600, while big car COEs saw a dip of about S$106 to close at S$61,894. Premiums in other categories rose. The biggest increase was seen in the commercial vehicles category. Premiums rose by S$990 to S$30,001. The premium for motorcycles now stands at $2,604, an increase of S$603. In the open category, premiums rose by around S$9 to close at $62,010. Dealers said although the COE prices for cars appear to have stabilised, they won't remain at such levels in the next bidding exercise. They said demand for cars is picking up as buyers are seemingly used to the high COE prices.
