MICA to promote arts and culture to the masses

SINGAPORE: A nation where arts and culture is for everyone, everywhere and everyday - that is a vision set forth by a steering committee looking into the Arts and Culture Strategic Review (ACSR). The committee has submitted its interim report on its work progress. Speaking in parliament during the debate for the Ministry of Information, Communications and the Arts (MICA), Minister Lui Tuck Yew said the steering committee has put forward a vision of Singapore in 2025, as a nation of cultured and gracious people, proud of their heritage, and confident in the Singaporean identity. The committee foresees that arts and culture will be an integral part of everyday lives. Singapore will also be home to many iconic cultural institutions, events, and star talent that represent the "peaks of excellence" that people love and are proud of.
