S'porean patients 'treat nurses like maids'

Just as there are overbearing patients, there are also so-called "healthcare professionals" who refuse to help patients and their caregivers by citing "hospital policy". A nurse at SGH told my mum who requested for hot water that it is hospital policy that hot water is only given out in the evening. The staff managing visitor registration refused to let me see my mum even though I told her that I am the caregiver. "Go buy a coffee at Bengawan Solo and see your mum 1 hour later. I'm not stopping you from seeing your mum, it's the ward nurses' fault. Guess what? The ward nurses gave me their tel no to call if the healthcare "professional" refuse to let me see my mum. If healthcare professionals are not professional &/or proficient, they create more work for themselves and need others to clean up their mess. If you are good, your work will be appreciated.
