89 drug offenders arrested in 48-hour operation

Eight of those caught were suspected to be involved in drug trafficking, while the rest are being investigated for drug abuse. The operation - conducted from Feb 8 to 10 - was part of CNB's effort to clear the streets of drug pushers and abusers, the Bureau said in a statement on Friday. About $48,300 worth of drugs were seized. The raids covered areas around Singapore, including Ang Mo Kio, Balam Road, Balestier, Bishan, Circuit Road, Joo Chiat and North Bridge Road.
