ITE to increase course fees for AY2012

SINGAPORE : Singapore's five polytechnics - Nanyang Polytechnic, Ngee Ann Polytechnic, Republic Polytechnic, Singapore Polytechnic and Temasek Polytechnic - and the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) will increase their fees for Academic Year (AY) 2012. They said the fee increases for AY2012 are necessary to help them defray the rising costs of delivering high-quality education. The polytechnics will implement a modest fee increase for Singaporean students for AY 2012. However, it will be higher for new Permanent Residents (PRs) and international students. Fees for new Singaporean students will increase by 2.3 percent or S$50 to S$2,250 a year. However, for new PRs, it will increase 22 per cent to hit S$4,500 a year, while it will rise 28 per cent to S$7,500 a year for international students Fees for existing students who are PRs or international students will also go ...
