Aussie who had threesome with supervisor and spouse claims office affair drove embezzlement

A trusted Sydney accountant who embezzled more than A$45 million (S$60.5 million) from financial group ING Holdings, in Australia's biggest case of individual fraud by a woman, was sentenced to 15 years in jail yesterday. Rajina Rita Subramaniam, 42, siphoned the money over five years and splurged on clothes, pens and jewellery she never wore. The police recovered 21 boxes filled with luxury goods at her workplace, stored under her office desk and nearby. Subramaniam, from Castle Hill in Sydney's north-west and originally from India, also snapped up A$18 million worth of high-end property around New South Wales. Subramaniam told the police she was mistreated at work, and that she had frequent sex with an ING supervisor. She said her husband knew about the affair and joined in for a threesome.
