SINGAPORE - News over the weekend that a former principal of a top primary school here is being investigated for his alleged involvement in an online vice ring has shocked parents and educators alike, as questions have once again been raised about the way the Ministry of Education (MOE) selects its teaching personnel. The media is not revealing the identity of the 39-year-old former principal as he has not been charged with any criminal offence yet. He is believed to be among a handful of public servants whose names were found on a long list of clients. Mr Sebastian Anthony, 48, a parent with three school-going children, said he was "totally disgusted". Wondering if the alleged involvement of the former principal was "just the tip of the iceberg", Mr Anthony said: "Measuring morality is not easily done but it can be done, and the MOE has to ask the right questions."
