It was reported in The New Paper that only 15 players travelled to Ipoh on Monday for their Malaysian Super League (MSL) match against Perak on Wednesday evening, with Hariss Harun, Yasir Hanapi, Shakir Hamzah, Safuwan Bahrudin and Khairul Nizam only able to join up with the squad on Tuesday due to NS commitments. Players who are Full-time NS servicemen (NSF) have been utilizing their annual leave for away fixtures this season and it has been revealed that the Ministry of Defence (Mindef) has rejected a season's worth of leave applications by the Football Association of Singapore (FAS) before the season started.
