Rolls-Royce campus opens at Seletar Aerospace Park - TODAYonline

Singapore has further reinforced its efforts to develop itself into an aviation hub with the opening of the Rolls-Royce campus at Seletar Aerospace Park today. The new campus, which seeks to bring advanced aerospace high-value manufacturing technology to Singapore, is expected to increase Rolls-Royce Group's value-add contribution in Singapore to 0.5 per cent of GDP projected in 2015. Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, who officially opened the facility, said that Singapore must stay abreast with competitors and improve the connectivity of the aviation hub as "this is a self-reinforcing advantage". "We need to continue to educate our workers and develop a highly-skilled workforce to move up the value chain and undertake more complex work," said Mr Lee in his speech. Rolls Royce currently employs 200 locals and this number will go up to 500 as the facility goes into full gear.
