Proportion of companies adopting re-employment practices up in 2010

SINGAPORE: Targeted assistance is on the way for companies which might need more help in implementing re-employment practices at their workplace. Speaking at the Singapore Tripartism Forum, Manpower Minister Gan Kim Yong said the tripartite partners will be leading a programme called ACCELERATE, which stands for Acclerating Re-Employment through tripartite efforts. The programme will help employers align their human resource policies and re-employment practice to the Tripartite Guidelines which have been issued on the subject. Mr Gan added that the Manpower Ministry's surveys on retirement and re-employment practices showed that more employers are taking re-employment seriously. Based on preliminary findings from MOM's 2010 Survey on Retirement and Re-employment Practices, the proportion of companies that allowed their employees to work past 62 has increased significantly ...
