S'poreans urged to defer travel to Bahrain: SINGAPORE : Singapore's Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) is urging

SINGAPORE : Singapore's Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) is urging Singaporeans to defer non-essential travel to Bahrain due to escalating tensions there over the past few days. Those already there are urged to avoid unnecessary travel within the country - in particular to avoid areas where demonstrations are occurring. They should be on high alert and monitor the news closely and keep in close touch with the Singapore Embassy in Riyadh, which is closely monitoring the situation, the ministry added on Monday. Singaporeans who require consular assistance should contact the Singapore Embassy in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia or the MFA Duty Officer.
